___________________________________________________________________

After months of training, the famous Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008 was flagged off on 7 Dec 08. Traces of E9000 can be found in almost every races.

Our running Master Simon started off with the Full Marathon at 5.30am, where a total of 11030 runners participate.
Then the guys, Phang, Nick & Kengwee, headed by Martin, started the 10km (Men) Marathon at 7.30am, which has a total of 7669 runners.
Followed by the ladies, Liping, Joanna & Michelle, led by Wenfeng, began their 10km (Women) Marathon at 8.15am, which has a total of 7727 runners.

Below are the results of the E9000 runners:

Rank Name - Individual Timing
2291 Simon - 4:57:21

2458 Martin - 1:03:43
2935 Phang - 1:09:21
3017 Nicholas - 1:04:42
3624 Kengwee - 1:10:49

1861 Wenfeng - 1:18:17
2852 Liping - 1:24:00
4591 Joanna - 1:33:59
4596 Michelle - 1:34:01

The ranking only means the individual's position to reach the endpoint, and not the ranking in terms of timing, because the individual may start off later due to the massive number of participants in each race. That's why they call it "Running your own race".

In all, as commented by our personal instructor Simon," You guys got pretty good timing." I believe everyone had fun!

Unfortunately, Angie was unable to turn up as she had to be overseas. Nonetheless, there's always next year!

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2009 - 21km (Men) & (Women). Any takers?

IES DnD 08 @ ShangriLa Hotel

This night, Night of the Stars.

With many thanks to the bosses, 23 of the E9-ners attended this Dinner and Dance by IES at the ShangriLa Hotel. Pretty ladies and smart gentlemen crowded E9 office this day. Yes, we all had ice-cream for our eyes.

Posh decorations, romantic ambience, quirky emcee, creative entertainment, nice music, wine, humour, the perfect night for a good classy chill-out after work for all of us. Not forgetting the inspriational talks by many reowned engineers, and the Minister of Health himself.

And mind you, we do get high on Yakult. Cheers!

Kent Ridge Walk

In a move to extend E9000's appreciation to numerous E9-ners for their contribution in overnight inspections some time back for 2 of the major projects, a sumptous dinner was held at the Japanese Restaurant @ Mount Faber Safra, where Certificates of Appreciation were issued to the various E9-ners.

However, having taken in consideration that this sumptous dinner may prove to be too 'sumptous' for some, a suitable amount of exercise have to be done in order to digest that extra calories.

As such, the whole E9000 were herded off to Kent Ridge Park right after work, where they shall begin a heritage walk passing the serene floral nursery, the fascinating beautiful HortPark, the Alexandra Arch and of course, the beloved Henderson Waves, all the way back to the Mount Faber Safra where the dinner was to be held.

And of course... the phrase "Walk one hour, eat THREE hours" still holds true.....

Bukit Timah Durian Expedition

On 21 August 08, Louis led a team of 10 E9-ners on an expedition to conquer the tallest mountain in Singapore: BUKIT TIMAH!!

Oh well.... maybe a hill then....

But the 10 brave E9-ners are: Madam Haw, Cynthia, Angie, Martin, Nicholas, Wenfeng, Lee Chen, Liping, Joanna & William!

Anyway, after going through the wilderness, we were joined by Mr Chong, Catherine and Boon Fei, and had dinner in a Korean restaurant opposite Beauty World. But the highlight of the night is actually the King Durians! Yummy yummy!! Go through the slideshow below for the events that happened that night!
